PTT's Bandar Bukit Raja Award: When Should Contractors Mobilise Machinery?

If you operate excavators or arrange haulage around Klang, a new earthworks award is a reason to check upcoming work. Before reserving extra machinery, confirm the package you would actually perform, when its work area becomes accessible and who can authorise mobilisation.

BusinessToday reported on 16 September 2026 that PTT Synergy’s subsidiary secured a RM83.26 million earthworks and ancillary works contract from Sime Darby Property (BBR Business Park) at Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang. The letter of award was accepted on 15 September, with site possession scheduled for 29 September 2026 and overall completion scheduled for 28 March 2028.

Site possession and your mobilisation instruction are different checks

Match loading capacity to truck turnaround. Ask how expected production has been calculated. More trucks may add waiting time if loading is the limiting factor; a larger excavator may sit idle if trucks cannot return quickly enough. Use the actual proposed route and operating conditions when assessing the match.

Map spending against payment milestones. List mobilisation transport, operators, fuel, servicing and any hire deposits alongside the agreed invoicing and certification dates. Confirm who bears standby costs and how completed quantities are recorded. These are questions for your own contract, not terms disclosed by the news report.

A staged reservation can preserve room to adjust
